A native of Edinburgh, Scotland, Gordon Petrie brings more than 30 years of finance, legal and human resources experience to the Scottsdale Golf Group. He has held several senior management positions with multinational corporations in manufacturing, hospitality and mining industries in the United States and Canada. His experience also includes a big four CPA firm in Toronto. Prior to joining the Scottsdale Golf Group, Gordon owned his own financial services consulting firm in Scottsdale. He is currently a member of numerous financial organizations in the US and Europe as well as the Board of Directors of the Greater Scottsdale Boys & Girls Club.
For over 30 years, Craig has been a PGA member, playing on the tour, Horton Smith Award recipient, and Iowa Section Champion. He is consistently recognized as a leader in golf instruction by GOLF “50 Best Teachers in America” and Golf Digest “Top 100 Teachers” lists. He has had numerous instruction articles published in GOLF DIGEST, GOLF, and GOLF TIPS. He oversees all John Jacobs’ Golf Schools and Golf Digest Schools locations.
Mark Bishop joined Scottsdale Golf Group in 2004 after spending more than 30 years in the advertising agency business. Prior to joining SGG, Mark owned and operated his own marketing services agency in Chicago, August, Bishop & Meier. Some of his former clients have included: McDonald’s, Burger King, Pepsi, Wilson Sporting Goods, JC Penney, Coors, Toyota, Brunswick, Mrs. Field’s, Hershey’s and Kraft. As the Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer, Mark is responsible for positioning, marketing and communication for all SGG brands. He has been published in all of the major trade publications for the Advertising and Marketing industry, including Advertising Age and Brand Week. He has been the keynote speaker at the AAAA, AMA and PMAA industry summits and a guest instructor at Chicago’s Northwestern University and Columbia College.
Rick Williams brings more than 20 years of experience to Scottsdale Golf Group, specializing in high end golf, resort and country club operations. In addition, Rick’s expertise includes a thorough working knowledge of multi-facility management, tournament promotion, merchandising, policy development, planning, budgeting and forecasting. Prior to joining Scottsdale Golf Group, Rick was the director of golf for The Legacy Golf Resort which was honored as one of Golf Digest’s top 50 customer service facilities in the U.S. in 2004, under Rick’s leadership. The resort was also named best new golf resort in Phoenix in 1999 by Resort Golfer magazine. He received the PGA Southwest Section Merchandiser of the Year in 1997. Rick is a Class “A” member of the PGA and his current memberships include Club Managers Association of America, Golf Course Owners Association of America, Association of Golf Merchandisers, Board member of the Golf Industry Association, Golf Advisory Council of the Scottsdale Convention & Visitors Bureau, and frequent guest lecturer for the San Diego Golf Academy.
With more than 26 years of experience in golf operations, Jerry Wilson joined Scottsdale Golf Group in 1994. As the Vice President of Public Golf Operations, Jerry serves as General Manager for SGG’s Painted Mountain Golf Resort in Mesa and oversees operations at public and municipal golf properties within SGG’s management portfolio.. His diverse background includes a two year degree in agronomy and turf management, food and beverage operations, multi-facility, golf and clubhouse operations, supervision of capital construction projects, staff development and training and budgeting/cost control operations. He has maintained his Class “A” membership in the PGA since 1993. Prior to joining SGG, Jerry held similar management positions with Pinetop Lakes Country Club, Gold Canyon Golf Resort and Camelot Golf Club in Mesa.
